Welcome to Chi Phi Wisconsin
It’s an exciting time on Langdon Street — the Kappa Chapter of Chi Phi is officially reestablishing at the University of Wisconsin–Madison this fall!
Our return couldn’t be more fitting, coming on the heels of Chi Phi’s 200th anniversary in 2024. Founded on December 24, 1824, at the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University), Chi Phi is the oldest social fraternity in America — and we’re proud to be part of that legacy.
Chi Phi’s roots at Wisconsin date back to 1911, when the Red Triangle Society was formed by students eager to bring the values of Chi Phi to campus. Their dream became a reality in 1916 when the Kappa Chapter officially received its charter.
Soon after, our early Brothers raised the funds to purchase property at the corner of Henry and Langdon Streets, creating a home base for brotherhood. By 1928, they had built the stately brick Chapter House that still stands proudly at 200 Langdon — a symbol of tradition, character, and connection.
Throughout the decades, generations of Chi Phi men have walked through these doors, guided by our enduring values: Truth, Honor, and Personal Integrity.
Now, a new generation is ready to write the next chapter.
Welcome back to Kappa. Welcome home.
